ABOUT SCAN2GO


1.    What is SCAN2GO?  
SCAN2GO aims to transform your FairPrice shopping experience by reducing your waiting time at the checkout. It is currently on a pilot run where customers will be provided with a handset to scan the items that they wish to purchase.

2.    Do I need a SCAN2GO card to use SCAN2GO?  
Yes. You will require a SCAN2GO card to acquire a handset before you can start shopping.

3.    Where can I find SCAN2GO?  
You can find SCAN2GO at FairPrice Finest, Bukit Timah Plaza.

4.    I want to use SCAN2GO. How do I register?  
Please head down to the customer service counter at FairPrice Finest at Bukit Timah Plaza to register and receive your SCAN2GO card on the same day!

Please bring along your NRIC as a verification check against the completed application form will be done. It may take up to 15 minutes to process the application. We seek customers' understanding that the processing may take longer during peak periods.

5.    What are the benefits of using SCAN2GO?  
SCAN2GO allows you to scan and bag your groceries as you shop, reducing the need for the cashier to scan individual items at the checkout counter. Upon completion of shopping, you can head to the designated SCAN2GO checkout counters for immediate payment. SCAN2GO also keeps a running total of what is in your basket, making budgeting easier.

7.    How do I add items to my handset's shopping list?  
Scan each item as you shop by pressing the yellow button and focusing the red laser beam at the item's barcode. There will be a beep sound with every successful scan. After scanning, you can bag your items using your own reusable bag for an even quicker checkout!

8.    How do I scan loose items (fruits and vegetables) with my handset?  
Scan the barcode on the shelves. These barcodes can be identified by the SCAN2GO logo. Click here to find out how it works.

9.    How do I add items that need to be weighed (fruits and vegetables) to my handset's shopping list?   
Weigh the items at the self-weighing station and scan the barcode sticker. The weighed item will be added to your shopping list.

10.  I do not want to purchase an item anymore. How do I remove it from my handset's shopping list?  
First, press the minus sign on the left of the handset. Then, scan the item which you wish to remove from your trolley. Upon scanning, the item will be removed from your shopping list. Please remember to remove the item from your trolley.

11.  I was scanning halfway but I do not want to continue shopping anymore. What should I do?  
Please notify our SCAN2GO staff. They will assist with the return of your handset.

12.  I cannot scan a particular item barcode. What should I do?  
Please isolate the item within your trolley and inform the cashier when you are at the checkout counter.

13.  Why does the handset not reflect the promotional prices indicated on the shelves?  
Final promotional prices and discounts will be calculated at the checkout counter.

14.  How do I ensure that I have scanned the correct item?  
You can cross-check the price and product name reflected on the handset screen with the items in your trolley to ensure that the correct items have been scanned.

15.  My handset is ringing. What should I do?  
The handset is programmed to ring after long periods of inactivity. Please press any button to stop the ringing. You may then continue shopping.

16.  How do I check out using SCAN2GO?  
When you have finished shopping, head down to B2 to make your payment at the SCAN2GO checkout counters. Look out for the SCAN2GO logo!

17.  Why is there a need for service checks?  
Service checks are conducted randomly. Customers may accidentally scan extra items without placing them into their trolleys. The checks are in place to ensure that customers receive the items they have paid for.

18.  I do not have a reusable bag. Will your staff help with the bagging?  
We highly encourage you to bring or purchase a reusable bag from FairPrice. This will allow you to bag on the go and complete your shopping faster. If you do not have a reusable bag, you can head to our self-packing counter to bag your items using the plastic bags provided. These packing counters are located right behind the SCAN2GO checkout counters.

19.  I do not have a reusable bag. Can you provide me with plastic bags so that I can shop and bag at the same        time?  
Apart from enhancing the overall shopping experience for customers, the SCAN2GO system is also meant to encourage our shoppers to be more environmentally friendly by bringing their own bags. This is why we do not provide plastic bags when customers use SCAN2GO. Nonetheless, we recognise that there may be instances when our customers may not have reusable bags on hand. Shoppers may either purchase a reusable bag in our store or they may bag their items after they have checked out their purchases at the self-packing counters located right behind the SCAN2GO checkout counters

20.  If the system does not prompt for service check, how would you know if I have taken anything without        scanning?  
The SCAN2GO system is provided to enhance the overall shopping experience for our customers. There are security measures in place to prevent abuses and we wish to remind the public that shoplifters will be prosecuted and reported to the police.

21.  Is the SCAN2GOcard transferable?
The SCAN2GO card is not transferable. Only registered members may use their cards for the SCAN2GO service.

22.  I lost my membership card. How do I get a replacement and do I have to pay a replacement fee?
If you lose or misplace your SCAN2GO card, please inform our SCAN2GO staff immediately. This is to prevent any unauthorised use of the card. There will be a replacement fee of $10 for every new card.


TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These terms and conditions (T&Cs) herein shall govern your use of FairPrice's SCAN2GO service at our outlets. Please read the T&Cs carefully before deciding to register for the use of SCAN2GO services. To activate the SCAN2GO device and services, you are first required to register your personal particulars with us.

1.  T&Cs & Amendments  
The SCAN2GO services are provided free of charge for your convenience and the T&Cs specified herein are subject to any addition or variation at the sole discretion of FairPrice.
2.  Registration  
To be eligible for the SCAN2GO services, you must be above eighteen years of age at the time of registration.
3.  Your Information

Pursuant to the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and without limiting the terms of our Privacy Policy, by registering for an account with the SCAN2GO , you agree that NTUC Fairprice Co-operative Ltd and its related or affiliated co-operatives and organisations (hereafter collectively referred to as "Fairprice", "we", "us" or "our") may collect, use, disclose, process, and/or transfer your personal data and data on your use of the SCAN2GO devices for the purposes of facilitating your transactions made through SCAN2GO devices and keeping you informed of updates, changes and developments relating to SCAN2GO , the scope of which may include but is not limited to:
  1. Managing and maintaining your SCAN2GO account with us;
  2. processing and fulfilling your order for goods and services purchased through the SCAN2GO devices;
  3. verifying and processing payment and/or credit control when you purchase goods through the SCAN2GO devices at our Point-of-Sale Terminals and our systems;
  4. engaging third party service providers to perform certain aspects of the services provided by SCAN2GO;
  5. unless you notify us in writing that you do not wish to receive such information, sending you information from time to time through e-mail and post about our products and services, promotions and special offers, upcoming events and other information which may be of interest to you;
  6. customer profiling, market analysis and research to improve our product and service offerings to you;
  7. communicating with you on matters relating to your SCAN2GO account, including administering any membership benefits and entitlements;
  8. notifying you about important changes to these Terms and Conditions, and to our policies or services which may affect you;
  9. responding to queries or feedback from you;
  10. enforcing these Terms and Conditions and our legal rights and remedies; and
  11. for such other purposes as permitted by applicable law or with your consent.

In compliance with the PDPA, Fairprice will not send marketing messages to Singapore telephone or facsimile numbers belonging to you unless you have given us clear and unambiguous consent to do so. If you have previously given us consent, we will continue to send you marketing messages until you advise us in writing that you wish to withdraw the consent.
4.  Availability  
Although FairPrice aims to offer you the best services possible, it makes no promise that the SCAN2GO service will be fault-free or free from defects. Should a fault occur in the service, you should report it to the SCAN2GO staff immediately and we will attempt to correct the fault as soon as we reasonably can.

Your access to the SCAN2GO service may be occasionally restricted to allow for repairs, maintenance, improvements or the introduction of new facilities or services. FairPrice will use all commercially reasonable endeavours to reduce such interruptions and restore the service as soon as as possible.
5.  Difficulty Scanning Items  
You may, on occasion encounter difficulties in scanning an item properly. In such instances, we ask that you notify the SCAN2GO staff of such instances before paying for your shopping items so that the affected item can be correctly scanned and charged.
6.  Service Checks  
We will routinely carry out service checks at the checkout counter to ensure the serviceability and working reliability of the SCAN2GO system. This is part of our services to you and does not necessarily imply that anything is amiss on your part. Such checks may from time to time require that your shopping items may be re-scanned at any time when required by FairPrice Staff.
7.  Scanning and Payment  
You agree to scan and pay for all items which you take into the SCAN2GO checkout area. By collecting a SCAN2GO handset when you shop, you agree that the SCAN2GO service shall be the method by which you will carry out all of your shopping during that visit to our store. Should you wish to shop without using SCAN2GO service, you agree to pay for your entire SCAN2GO items first (if any items have already been scanned) and return the SCAN2GO handset before continuing with your shopping. You can choose to pay for your SCAN2GO items by any method accepted in our store at the time of purchase. As with other transactions, it is understood that any theft, abuse or misuse of SCAN2GO equipment or items sold at our outlet may be reported to the authorities.
8.  Promotions  
Please note any deduction for promotions and/or discount coupons will be registered by the SCAN2GO system and taken into account at the SCAN2GO checkout counter before your final bill is tallied. Total savings displayed on the SCAN2GO handset serves as a guide only and the total amount payable may differ from the actual savings/discounts deducted at the SCAN2GO checkout counter.
9.  Termination & Suspension of Use of SCAN2GO  
FairPrice may temporarily suspend or cancel your registration and/or suspend your use of the SCAN2GO system if you have breached or we have reasonable grounds to believe that you have breached any of the T&Cs. ON the other hand, you may also terminate this agreement at any time by informing us in writing. If you do so, you must stop using the SCAN2GO service. The suspension/cancellation/termination of your registration and/or your right to use the SCAN2GO service shall not affect either party's accrued rights or liabilities up to the time of such suspension, cancellation or termination, as the case may be. Notwithstanding any T&Cs to the contrary contained herein, FairPrice reserves the right to withdraw the SCAN2GO service at any time without notice to you.
10.  Loss of SCAN2GO membership card  
If you lose or misplace your SCAN2GO membership card, please inform our SCAN2GO staff immediately or contact our customer relations hotline at 6552 2722 to report the loss. This is to prevent any unauthorised use of the card. We will deactivate the lost card so that it can no longer be used for any SCAN2GO service.

Please note that you will be held liable for any damage to or loss of the SCAN2GO handset or attendant equipment that was used or allowed to be used under your SCAN2GO membership card. Should you require a new SCAN2GO membership card, a S$10.00 replacement fee will be chargeable.
